Commons:Batch uploading/farmtransparency.org files

From Wikimedia Commons, the free media repository

Recently, that site was added to Commons:Free media resources/Photography. I have long noticed a strange lack of media showing industrial farming, which is a particularly important subject where media depicting it could educate many people on civilization-relevant subjects like climate change, ethics and animal well-being. This gap could be closed via files (images & videos) from that website.

Most of it appears to be CCBY (or is it all of it?).

The files can be upload using video2commons too so one doesn't need to convert the mp4 to webm locally. This can be done by clicking on the button to download the highest-resolution file, then copying the URL of the page that opens, and then pasting that download link into v2c. One could maybe also go to their vimeo as the videos seem to be located there.
Also note that the files seem to be all well-categorized so these should or at least could be used to also categorize the files on Commons. For example, by importing files by one species at a time – like setting Category:Videos of the meat industry Category:Pigs for files imported via this filter that are videos.
Looks like there is no filter for the CCBY license in their gallery. I've sent them an email asking a license-filter to be added. However, it seems to work by just searching for the CCBY text in the description under "Advanced search" like so. Prototyperspective (talk) 22:03, 15 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
